Highland Square

Highland Theatre Spanning about one mile in each direction from Market Street and Highland Avenue in Akron is the entertaining Highland Square area. During the day pick up some coffee from Angel Falls Coffee, and spend the afternoon flipping through new and used vinyls and CDs at Square Records. At night, hear live music at Annabell's Bar and Lounge or The Matinee, where you can stop next door to Mr. Zub's for a mouth-watering sandwich until 2am.

Northeast Ohio has 24 "student zones" that are already popular hangouts for college students. So any time that you're itching to get off-campus - morning, noon, or night - here's where to find a worthy destination that's got just what you're looking for.

Wooster

Wooster The Wooster area oozes charm. You'll find it in the historic downtown, inside Lehman's old-time hardware store, or at the big September events--The Wayne County Fair (Ohio's best), or the Shakespeare and Williamsburg Festivals. Hungry for more? Try an Amish experience at the famous Troyer's Home Pantry bakery.

Then fast forward to today's Wooster. Hear live music at Seattle's, race your mountain bike at Vulture's Knob, sample any of the visual and performing arts at Wayne Center for the Arts, catch the Wooster Symphony, or see the Ohio Light Opera company at the College of Wooster.

Wooster has it all--an award winning downtown with lots of good restaurants, famous festivals, the arts, a great arboretum, a brewing company and a vineyard--even the Everything Rubbermaid store!

Warehouse District

Warehouse District Nine downtown blocks of music clubs, fine restaurants, outdoor cafes, galleries, and newly renovated loft apartments. The mix of century-old buildings with the vibrant nightlife has made the Warehouse District a popular spot for a fun night out with friends.

Favorites include Blue Pointe Grill, Blind Pig, Velvet Dog, D'Vine, The Cleveland Chophouse, and Map Room.

The Valley

The Valley Kent State and UAkron students flock to this restaurant, cafe and lounge area in NW Akron near Stan Hywet Gardens.

Favorite haunts include Scorchers, Pucci's, Valley Cafe, Brubaker's Pub, The Dorm, and anything in Liberty Commons.

When the parents are paying, be sure to try out Otani Japanese Restaurant where they cook your food tableside.
